Open to undergraduate students from all universities in Bangladesh, Optimity 2024 features a comprehensive structure comprising two workshops and three competitive rounds. Teams of 2-4 members from the same university will engage in intellectually stimulating challenges designed to test their skills and creativity:
- Workshops: Two sessions led by industry professionals to enhance participants’ knowledge prior to the first two rounds.
- Round One: An online multiple-choice quiz to assess foundational financial understanding.
- Subsequent Rounds: Offline case study presentations evaluated by leading industry experts.
Culmination in a Grand Finale
The competition will culminate in the Grand Finale on December 4, 2024, where the top-performing teams will compete for the grand prize pool of BDT 300,000. Additionally, certificates will be awarded to the top 20 participants by the Department of Accounting and Finance, recognizing their exceptional efforts.

North South University Finance Club has successfully concluded the sixth edition of the nation’s largest Microsoft Excel-based competition, Excelsior 2024. This prestigious event brought together students from various public and private universities across Bangladesh to showcase their analytical and problem-solving skills using Microsoft Excel.
Sponsored by UCB Stock Brokerage Limited, the competition featured two comprehensive workshops where participants enhanced their knowledge and skills in Excel. These workshops were instrumental in preparing them for the rigorous challenges of the two competition rounds. In the first round, 266 participants tackled real-world Excel problems, with the top 50 advancing to the second round. Here, contestants solved a complex case study, demonstrating their Excel expertise and critical thinking abilities.
The Grand Finale, held on October 17, 2024, announced the top 10 contestants, with the top 3 winners receiving cash prizes of BDT 25,000, BDT 15,000, and BDT 10,000, along with crests. All top 10 finalists were awarded certificates from the Department of Accounting and Finance, North South University, in recognition of their exceptional performance.
